Megan Hertel, M.Ed., LLC
Hello and buenas! My name is Megan, and I am a therapist specializing in working with children and individuals from ages 4 to young adults. I provide both in-person and virtual counseling services, and I also speak Spanish - yo hablo español.
I believe that providing compassionate mental health services can be restorative and transformative for not only the client, but their whole family system. I have experience working with folks with a variety of issues including, but not limited to: trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and behavioral and emotional issues. I have a particular passion for working with individuals in the queer community, and those diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
In my therapy practice, I aim to provide a compassionate, well-rounded approach to therapy that empowers my clients and their caregivers, facilitates communication and healing, and fosters skills and self-love to weather life’s storms.
With younger clients, I often utilize child-centered play therapy, and my practice is firmly rooted in the belief that play is the language of children. With teens and adults, I often combine Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) practices as these modalities are designed to meet the client where they are at, and provide rich psychoeducational resources and insights.
I am passionate about my work and love collaborating within the community to help clients journey toward a holistic vision of wellness. Let’s walk together on the road towards healing.
